Srinagar, Mar 26 (KNO): In its continued crackdown against drug trafficking, Police in Pulwama apprehended a drug peddler during naka checking at Tahab General Road near the Hostel of Dolphine Paramedical Institute.
In a statement issued to the news agency—Kashmir News Observer (KNO), a police spokesman said, “during checking, a suspicious vehicle (Alto 800) bearing registration No. JK03C-9715 was signalled to stop. Upon search of the vehicle, a heroin-like substance weighing about 20 grams was recovered. The vehicle used in the commission of crime has also been seized. The driver of the vehicle was apprehended on the spot. He has been identified as Tariq Ahmad Wani son of Gh Nabi Wani resident of Wahipora Litter.”
“Accordingly, a case FIR No. 40/2026 under relevant section of law has been registered at Police Station Pulwama and investigation has been set into motion,” he said.
